Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar (for yeast)
  • 1 Tbsp (or one packet) active dry yeast

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 Tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 to 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2.5 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 6 Tbsp softened butter

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or heavy whipping cream)

Instructions

  1. Warm milk in microwave 45-60 seconds to about 105F.
  2. In large bowl, place milk, 1 Tbsp sugar, yeast. Gently mix and let sit 5 mins.
  3. Add 1/2 cup sugar, 6 Tbsp butter, eggs, vanilla. Mix by hand.
  4. Add flour, salt, cinnamon. Mix by hand.
  5. Once mixed, knead dough in bowl and add more flour if needed.
  6. Transfer to floured surface and knead for 3-5 mins.
  7. Place dough in large bowl and cover with a damp warm cloth for one hour.
  8. While dough is rising, make filling. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, butter.
  9. After dough has risen, roll out dough on floured surface to 24″ x 12″ rectangle and about 1/4″ thick.
  10. Spread out filling on dough. Roll up dough tightly so that remains 24″ in length.
  11. Cut into 12 equal sizes that are about 2 inches wide and place into baking pan. Let sit overnight in frig.
  12. In the morning, preheat oven to 375F. Pour cream over rolls before baking in oven for 24-30 minutes.
